Supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, popularly known as ‘Obidients‘ held their rallies across major cities in the country on Saturday, October 1st.
The supporter converged at strategic places in Edo, Kaduna, Lagos, Abia amongst other states in the country.
This is just as Nigeria celebrated her 62nd Independence Day Anniversary today, being October 1st.
Reports say supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate in Lagos State started the walk from the Admiralty Junction moving through the major road in Lekki.
They made stops at every junction waving flags, banners and other paraphernalia as they rally towards Jakande, Elegushi axis, an apparent move to avoid confrontation with the police already stationed at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Recall that a Lagos court had on Wednesday, ruled against the convergence of the rally on Lekki Toll Gate.
The court also directed the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, to ensure compliance with the order.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that Peter Obi in his independence day message, said Nigeria needs independence from corruption, poverty and religious disunity.
