Bandits have killed two persons and abducted 13 others during an attack in Mamman Suka community of Gwadabawa local council of Sokoto State.
It was gathered that the bandits attacked the community over the weekend and opened fire on the residents.
Sources said the incident has left many residents in fear, with some contemplating leaving the community.
The council chair, Alhaji Aminu Aya, who confirmed the attack, said the gunmen operated freely for hours without resistance from security agencies.
“The bandits abducted 11 females and two males. They also rustled some livestock and went away with valuables including mobile phones and money. All these happened without any intervention nor support from the security agents.
“I also appeal to the army and other security agencies to make efforts to rescue the victims taken away by the attackers,” Aya said.
This comes a few days after bandits attacked Niger hospital and killed two people before abducting health workers and 17 patients.
