In 1995, Jon worked for KPNX in Arizona. His career took him around the country and he lived in Utah, California amongst other places.
He worked as a correspondent for Fox News from 1998 to 2002.

In 2000, Jon wrote a book, ‘‘The Prodigal Father: A True Story of Tragedy, Survival, And Reconciliation In An American Family”. The memoir follows Jon and his “search for his once successful father among the nation’s homeless and describes the process by which he came to forgive the man who abandoned his family twenty years earlier.
The book was a bestseller on Amazon for about two months and was even optioned for a movie from Disney.
Jon has won some Emmy awards as well as a Golden Mic, and numerous accolades from the Associated Press.
