Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has called for psychological, drug, alcoholic, and psychiatric tests for policemen deployed to the checkpoints.
Sani stated this in a tweet on his handle on Wednesday.
According to him, many people have lost their lives in the hands of armed policemen with any of the mentioned disorders.
He wrote, “Policemen deployed to the Checkpoints need to undergo psychological, drugs, alcoholic and psychiatric tests,” Sani wrote.
“So many people have lost their lives in the hands of armed policemen with any of the above disorders.”
Sani’s statement comes a few days after a policeman in Lagos shot and killed a pregnant female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem on Christmas day.
Raheem was killed on Christmas day in the Ajah area of the state.
An Assistant Police Superintendent, ASP, and two other officers have been arrested in Lagos for the killing.
Some reports indicated that the police officers attached to the Ajiwe police station in Ajah had allegedly ordered the car conveying them to stop.
The police officers allegedly shot at the car and the bullet hit the lawyer.
