Teebillz Hails D’banj After He Was Arrested By ICPC For Alleged N-Power Fraud

Music executive, Teebillz has taken to social media to celebrate popular singer, D’banj, who was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

KanyiDaily recalls that the ICPC had arrested D’banj on Tuesday, December 6, over allegations of diversion of funds for the N-Power Programme.

The musician was detained by the ICPC for allegedly collaborating with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the N-Power scheme in order to divert funds.

D’banj had denied the allegations, saying his management does not engage in business dealings “unless they are legitimate, properly documented and obtainable in law.”

Taking to his Instagram page, Teebillz hailed D’banj for his hard work and contribution in the Nigerian music industry which has gone international over the years.

The music mogul revealed that the embattled singer is the reason why many people based abroad return to Nigeria, after joining the industry and also gave hope to kids from the ghetto.

He wrote, “‘Bonafide hustler! He’s the reason we all believed in Afrobeats and he solidified it internationally for THE WORLD to pay attention!!! the reason everyone is benefiting from it today. You deserve royalties from afrobeats 4ever!!!!!

“We all moved back home bcos of you and you gave hope to kids from the ghetto! You defined hard work is greater than talent with your Mamba Mentality…….

“I celebrate you, just giving you your flowers while you’re alive to feel the respect and love that we have for you KING BANGER @iambangalee You’re beyond GOAT of Afrobeats! You’re one of the gods!!! @iambangalee #DKoko #AfricanMichealJackson #MrNoLongThing”

Meanwhile, D’banj’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi has called on the ICPC to release the singer who has “satisfactorily cooperated with the commission’s investigation” and lamented his continued detention.
