Music executive, Teebillz has taken to social media to celebrate popular singer, D’banj, who was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
KanyiDaily recalls that the ICPC had arrested D’banj on Tuesday, December 6, over allegations of diversion of funds for the N-Power Programme.
The musician was detained by the ICPC for allegedly collaborating with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the N-Power scheme in order to divert funds.
D’banj had denied the allegations, saying his management does not engage in business dealings “unless they are legitimate, properly documented and obtainable in law.”
Taking to his Instagram page, Teebillz hailed D’banj for his hard work and contribution in the Nigerian music industry which has gone international over the years.
The music mogul revealed that the embattled singer is the reason why many people based abroad return to Nigeria, after joining the industry and also gave hope to kids from the ghetto.
He wrote, “‘Bonafide hustler! He’s the reason we all believed in Afrobeats and he solidified it internationally for THE WORLD to pay attention!!! the reason everyone is benefiting from it today. You deserve royalties from afrobeats 4ever!!!!!
