The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has mourned the victims of the gas plant explosion in the Effurun area of Warri, Delta State

A gas plant in the Alaka Effurun area of Warri, Delta State, exploded on Monday night.

The number of casualties has not yet been ascertained.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday afternoon, Peter Obi said he just received the sad news of the incident.

Peter Obi said his prayers and thoughts are with the injured as well as the families of those who might have lost loved ones.

He wrote, “I just received the news of the gas explosion that rocked Effurun, near Warri, in Delta state, yesterday night.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the injured, and families of those who might have lost loved ones.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that a corps member, Nnamdi Daniel has been declared wanted by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly engaging in fraud and possessing illegal firearms.
