The member representing the Ideato North state constituency, at the Imo House of Assembly, Arthur Egwim is dead.
Arthur Egwim died following some health-related issues.
This was confirmed in a statement signed by the House Speaker, Emeka Nduka representing Ehime Mbano under the platform of the APC.
The speaker described Arthur Egwim as “a ranking parliamentarian of note and a strong voice at the assembly.”
Nduka further noted that Egwim’s death would create a vacuum in the house as he was one of the house’s “finest and best brains” and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Arthur Egwim was first elected into the eighth house in 2015. He had served as a chief whip of the house.
He contested the House of Representatives seat in the February 25 national assembly elections on the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform but failed.
