A Grade I Area Court in Kabusa, Abuja, convicted a 30-year-old painter named Zakaraya Usman to two months in prison for theft.
Usman was charged with taking four Bibles, 124 church membership papers, bottled water, and Caprisonne beverages.
The Prosecution Counsel, O. S. Osho, informed the court that the case had been reported to the Durumi Police Station by the Chief Security Officer of Living Faith Church, Durumi I branch, David Usman.
“Usman allegedly entered the church and stole three mini bibles, one large bible, two bottles of water, 14 Caprisonne drinks, 18 testimonial certificates, 124 church membership forms, security jackets, two shirts, two handkerchiefs, bags, and some cash.”
“And all of those items were recovered from him during the police investigation,” he added.
Usman entered a guilty plea to the charge.
In his judgement, Judge Abubakar Sadiq sentenced the defendant to two months in prison with an option fee of N10,000. And warned that if he did it again, the court would not be kind to him.
