DJ Magic Jay, who disclosed this during a recent interview with Ruggedman TV, hosted by legendary Nigerian rapper, Ruggedy Baba, said the incident took place at YCee’s concert held at the 02 Academy in Islington, London.
According to him, he approached Wizkid to introduce himself and greet him, but the Afrobeats star dismissed his gesture by slapping his hand away.
The DJ said, “YCee’s concert, I was in Islington at the 02, I walked in, I went to greet him [Wizkid], I said, ‘Hi, how are you doing, Wizkid? My name is Cool Magic Jay; a Jamaican guy who loves afrobeats’. I went to shake his hand and he slapped my hand away.”
Expressing his curiosity and desire for understanding, DJ Magic Jay said that he would be interested in conducting an interview with Wizkid to uncover the reasons behind his actions.
“I wanna interview Wizkid. He probably won’t remember what happened but I will like interview him just to ask him questions like do you like it or hate it when you get approached by fans or people in the industry too much…That could be one of those moments he was like ah leave me alone, I just want to enjoy the show,” he added.
KanyiDaily recalls that Soulja Boy had threatened to kill Wizkid after the singer was announced as a headliner at a Rolling Loud concert in Germany, where the rapper was also booked to perform.
