“Oyoyo Baba” – Buhari Welcomed Home In Daura After 8 Years As Nigeria’s President [Video]

The immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, after completing eight years as the President of Nigeria.

KanyiDaily had reported how Buhari departed for his hometown in Daura, after handing over to Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as the new president and vice president at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Monday, May 29.

Accompanied by his wife Aisha, their children, and several dignitaries, Buhari arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport via a Nigerian Air Force aircraft at about 1:30 pm.

Others who followed Buhari were former ministers Hadi Sirika (Aviation) and Prof. Isa Pantami (Communication and Digital Economy), as well as his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

Upon their arrival, the former president and his entourage were greeted by the newly-inaugurated Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar-Radda, and his deputy, Faruk Lawal.

Subsequently, Buhari was transported to Daura via helicopter, where has was greeted by excited residents of his community who could not hide the fact that they were happy to have him back home.

‘’Oyoyo Baba” they chanted as he walked the streets of Daura.

KanyiDaily recalls that during the Presidential Inauguration Gala Night, Muhammadu Buhari expressed his thoughts on the challenges of leading Nigerians and he compared his experience with Nigerians to that of tending to his farm animals.
