The airplane, which arrived in Egypt on Thursday, is among the airplanes that were approved by the Nigerian government to evacuate stranded Nigerians.
The airline announced on its Twitter handle on Friday morning.
The tweet read, “Evacuation Update: Azman Air Crew with 400seater Airbus A340-600; 5N-AAM departed Kano, Nigeria at exactly 3:45 pm and arrived safely at the Aswan International Airport Egypt at exactly 7:15 pm on Thursday 4th May 2023.
“We are currently on standby to welcome Nigerians to be evacuated.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the first batch of 376 Nigerians evacuated from Sudan through Egypt, has arrived in Nigeria amid cheers and relief from family members and government officials.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday night at aboard a Nigerian Airforce plane and Air Peace Aircraft.
In a related development, the Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Muhammad Yusuf has asked Nigerian evacuees to return to the Northeast African country after the ongoing war has ended.
Yusuf made the call on Thursday morning after the first batch of 376 Nigerians, who fled the ongoing war in Sudan, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
