According to PMNews, Gbajabiamila’s chief of staff, Olanrenwaju Smart Wasiu confirmed that his principal was appointed by the president after several hours of meetings and consultations.
Wasiu was quoted as saying “After several hours of meetings and consultations, President Bola Tinubu has made his first appointment, picking the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as the president’s Chief of Staff.”
He said Tinubu’s decision to appoint Gbajabiamila is driven by the desire to have someone capable of rallying lawmakers in the National Assembly to support his proposals and policies.
Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the Speaker of the current 9th House of Representatives, won re-election to represent the Surulere I Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives.

He wrote, “Fake news is a monster that must be curbed. Kindly ignore any fake news quoting this account for posting about any political appointment. Nothing of such was ever posted here.”
