At least six senators are vying for the seat of president of the 10th Senate.

Shortly after he met with service chiefs, President Bola Tinubu is meeting with Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives,  Femi Gbajabiamila at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, reports say, began a few minutes past 2 pm shortly after the principal officers arrived at the State House.

Kanyi Daily earlier reported that the president met service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, who were led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor which was his first security meeting with them.

The purpose of the meeting with the National Assembly principal officers is not public, it may not be unconnected to the inauguration of the members of the 10th National Assembly scheduled for June 5 and the eventual election of a new Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

At least six senators are vying for the seat of president of the 10th Senate.

Meanwhile, Tinubu had met with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa at the villa on Wednesday.
