KanyiDaily recalls that Davido has been facing widespread backlash from Muslims after he took to his Twitter page and shared a music video for a song titled “Jaye Lo” by his signee, Logos Olori.
Some Muslim youths took to the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to demonstrate their grievances against the music video which they deemed disrespectful to their religion.
Although Davido bowed to pressure and deleted the music video after being dragged on social media for disrespecting Islam, some people are still demanding an apology from the singer.
Amidst the mounting pressure, Isreal DMW apologized on Davido’s behalf to the Muslim community, stressing that the controversial video was intended purely for entertainment purposes and was mistakenly misinterpreted.
Despite the public uproar and criticism, Davido has chosen to remain silent on the issue. However, a check on his Instagram page shows that he is no longer following Israel.
As of now, Isreal DMW is still following Davido on the social media platform, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days.
KanyiDaily recalls that Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka defended Davido over the controversial video, saying the singer owes no one an apology including the offended Muslim faithful.
