“I And 5 People Had To Tie Her Up” – Chacha Eke’s Husband Speaks On His WIfe’s Mental Illness [Video]

Austin Faani, the husband of Nollywood actress Chacha Eke, has openly addressed his wife’s mental health struggles.

KanyiDaily recalls that in 2022, Chacha Eke who is dealing with bipolar disorder, shared her battles with mental health, a situation that has often led her to create dramas on social media.

Speaking on his wife’s health challenges in a new video, Austin Faani said “her mental issues gets worse when she gets pregnant. It’s as if something is coming to take away that baby so that she will be fine. So it starts with pregnancy.”

He shared his conversation with an experienced doctor who explained her temperaments to him. This counselor gave him guidance on managing the situation and emphasized that Chacha Eke’s mental condition was treatable through consistent medication.

“Once your wife can take her drugs, you will enjoy your marriage,” Austin quoted the doctor saying.

He went on to disclose the financial strain caused by the cost of the medication, which was affecting his finances.

Austin Faani also recounted Chacha’s most recent manic episode, which occurred in Ghana. He recounted instances when he had to intervene during her manic episodes, stressing that he had to bundle her away.

Accoring to him, he and five other people had to restrain Chacha Eke in order to transport her to the hospital as she was bleeding from self-inflicted injuries and remained agitated.

Austin narrated a particularly startling incident where his wife shattered a mirror at 1 am, claiming that she saw that people were coming out of the mirror, prompting her to break it.

He shared the steps he took to find solution. He transitioned from seeking help from various prayer houses to realizing that Chacha’s issues were fundamentally medical in nature.

One poignant moment he recalled was when Chacha screamed at him, asking if he “know what it feels like to have a mental illness?” And He responded “Do you know what it feels like to live with someone that has a mental illness?”

KanyiDaily recalls that Chacha Eke also opened up about her past struggles with deep-rooted hatred towards her mother, stressing that she disliked her mum and wished her dead while growing up.
