“I’m Sorry For Being Too Expressive” – Phyna Apologizes For Saying All Women Do Abortion

Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner, Ijeoma Otabor, known as Phyna, has issued a public apology for her controversial remarks regarding abortion, which sparked widespread criticism.

During a recent interview, Phyna confidently stated that every woman is an abortionist, stressing that only those who openly admit to having had abortions face judgment and criticism.

The reality star claimed that it’s common for women to have one or two abortions, shedding light how she had two abortions at the age of 19 and 24.

Phyna’s statement which didn’t sit well with many netizens, was widely criticized by many Nigerians on social media including her celebrity colleagues.

In response to the backlash, Phyna took to her Instagram page and issued a statement retracting her remarks clarifying that she had been misunderstood.

She emphasized that she did not intend to generalize her statement to apply to all women and asserted that she does not endorse or promote abortion.

Acknowledging the heated nature of the interview, she admitted to being overly expressive, clarifying that her comments did not reflect her stance on the subject

Phyna also reassured her fans, family, and friends of her commitment to not disappoint them, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support.

She concluded the statement by reiterating her disapproval of abortion and thanking her supporters, aiming to set the record straight regarding her views.

“Good day to all and sundry, I am Josephina Otabor a.k.a Phyna and I write this statement to address the issues concerning my interview about a very sensitive topic and I inaccurately suggested “all” women have engaged in it.

“Firstly, I will like to address the fact that in as much as I was misunderstood, I didn’t mean to project it on every female gender. I will never encourage abortion.

“I admit that I was being too expressive in the heat of the interview hence my assertions. I will reiterate that abortion is not a thing I stand for and I should not be seen in that light and I admit to all mistakes made.

“I want to use this medium to thank my fans, family and friends for their constant love and support, I don’t intend to let you down.Thank you, Phyna.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Phyna recently revealed how she feels about people’s reactions when she admitted to committing two abortions at age of 19 and 24.
