Most Nigerian female artists’ managers are their boyfriends – Rapper Magnito claims
Mohammed Usman Adamu, alias Magnito, a popular rapper, has stated that “most successful female artists” in Nigeria are handled by their boyfriends.
He added that it has become a trend in the Nigerian music industry, but that audiences are unaware of it because such female singers keep their relationships hidden.

The ‘Canada’ singer was interviewed on the newest episode of the Terms And Conditions podcast.
“Most of the successful female artists you see, the person managing them is their boyfriend,” Magnito added. They might not make it public. But the majority of them… Call me by any name.”
His claim elicited mixed reactions on social media, with many concurring with him while others berated him for “generalising”.
