In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by Professor Sandy Onor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the election victory of Governor Bassey Otu of the APC in Cross River State.
Justice Helen Ogunwumiju, delivering the lead judgment, stated that the appellants failed to substantiate their case.
She deemed the appeal “without merit, a waste of judicial time and resources.”
The judge proceeded to affirm the concurrent judgments of the election tribunal and Court of Appeal, which affirmed Otu’s election.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Supreme Court also overturned the ousting of Caleb Mutfwang and reinstated him as the governor of Plateau state.
