Nigeria Labour Congress Leads Protest in Osun

The Nigeria Labour Congress and organized civil societies have initiated a protest in Osun State

It was gathered on Tuesday that the protest began at Freedom Park, Osogbo, in response to the current economic situation in Nigeria.

It was also noted that the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had, on February 8, issued a 14-day nationwide strike notice to the Federal Government over the failure to implement the agreements reached on October 2, following the removal of the fuel subsidy.

The protest was triggered by the Federal Government’s failure to uphold its promises following the ultimatum

In Osun State last Monday, organized labor initiated mobilization of its members for nationwide protests against the high cost of living in the country.

Kanyi Daily recalls that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has kicked off its nationwide protest on February 27 and 28 in Abuja, targeting the country’s escalating cost of living
