In a statement on Monday, Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, disclosed that Tinubu would depart from Abuja on Tuesday for Dakar, the capital of Senegal, where the inauguration will take place.
Ngelale clarified that the President’s visit is at the invitation of Senegal.
Faye, aged 44, secured victory by garnering over 54 percent of the votes in the country’s delayed presidential election.
Last week, Senegal’s constitutional council confirmed the opposition candidate’s victory in the presidential election.
“President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
“The president will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and other senior government officials,” the president reads.
The spokesperson added that Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria following the inauguration.
