Nicki Minaj filmed herself getting arrested at the Amsterdam airport on her way to Manchester for her next tour show.
According to a video shared on social media, the 41-year-old rapper was arrested on suspicion of drug possession or, as she claimed “pre-rolls.”
During the Instagram Live, Nicki denied having any drugs but was told she still had to go to the police station.
The video shows her arguing with police, insisting she wasn’t carrying drugs and demanding a lawyer.
The officers says to her, “Because you’re carrying drugs,” to which she says, “I’m not carrying drugs. I’m not carrying drugs. I am not going in there. I need a lawyer present. No, I need a lawyer present now.”
The officer then tells her, “You have to go to the police station […] you are under arrest.”
Surprised, Nicki asked, “So I’m under arrest? Under arrest for what? I need a lawyer ’cause I don’t know where I’m going.”
The hashtag #FREENICKI began trending on Twitter (X) as her fans expressed their concern.
Before the alleged arrest, Nicki had posted on social media about her bags being pulled aside for searches at the airport.
The diamond-selling rapper claimed staff were trying to “plant things” in her luggage to sabotage her tour.
In an Instagram video, she showed a man explaining that police needed to search her luggage.
Alongside the video, she wrote: “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs.
“This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”
In another video, an airport crew member explained how they needed to “offload all the luggage and search everything.”
KanyiDaily had also reported how Nicki Minaj was nearly hit by an object during her Pink Friday 2 world tour in North America.
