Trump Found Guilty In Hush Money Case, Becomes First US Ex-President To Be Criminally Convicted

Former United States President, Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his hush money trial.

A New York jury convicted him of falsifying records to commit election fraud, making him the first former president in US history to be criminally convicted of a felony.

During his trial on Thursday, May 30, Trump was found guilty of all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

The charges are linked to 11 invoices, 12 vouchers, and 11 payments made by his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.

Trump pleaded not guilty and denied any sexual affair with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

Prosecutors also accused him of conspiring to undermine the 2016 election and suppress negative information about Daniels.

Trump’s attorney, Todd Blanche sought to acquit the charges, but Judge Juan Merchan denied the motion.

Reacting after the verdict, Donald Trump criticized the trial as a “disgrace” and “rigged,” vowing to keep fighting.

He said, “We’ll keep fighting; we’ll fight til the end, and we’ll win because our country’s gone to hell.

“This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent.

“We don’t have the same country anymore; we have a divided mess. We will fight for our Constitution. This is long from over.”

Sentencing is set for July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention, where Donald Trump is expected to be nominated for president.

The former president faces a maximum of four years in prison but could receive a shorter sentence, fines, or probation.

After the conviction on Thursday, Trump traveled to dinner in New York City in a convoy of black jeeps.

KanyiDaily recalls that Donald Trump was recently ordered by a Manhattan jury to pay $83 million in damages for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll who accused him of rape.
