The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has issued a public summons for former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello to appear in court to face 16 new allegations against him.

Court Issues Public Summons For Yahaya Bello Over Alleged N110.4 Billion Fraud

Justice Maryanne Anenih held that Yahaya Bello is required to appear in court on October 24 for his arraignment, along with two other defendants.

The summons was granted after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made a request to the court on Thursday. October 3.

Justice Anenih instructed the EFCC to publish the summons in a widely read newspaper and to post copies at Bello’s last known address as well as in prominent locations at the court.

The EFCC stated that it had been unable to serve Bello with the charges filed on September 24, which accuse him and the other two defendants of criminal breach of trust involving ₦110.4 billion.

The other defendants are Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Federal Government filed a new 16-count charge against Yahaya Bello, accusing him of criminal breach of trust involving N110.4 billion.
