Hoodlums Takes Over #FearlessInOctober Protest Venue In Port Harcourt

Hoodlums have taken control of the protest venue in Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where the August #EndBadGovernance demonstration had taken place.

This location had been designated for the ‘FearlessInOctober’ protest on Tuesday, which aimed to address the rising economic challenges in the country.

The cane-wielding thugs declared that no protests would be allowed in Rivers and warned anyone, including journalists, against capturing the event on camera, threatening violence if they did.

Meanwhile, similar protests are ongoing in cities like Lagos and Abuja as Nigeria marks its 64th Independence anniversary.

Protesters are calling on President Bola Tinubu’s government to reverse the removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange rate—policies they believe have triggered skyrocketing inflation and high living costs.

Meanwhile, Nigerian police used teargas to disperse #FearlessInOctober protesters who were rallying against poverty, economic hardship, and poor governance in Abuja.
