The accused include Mr. Abdullahi Fasasi, the school principal; Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, proprietor of Agidigbo FM, which promoted the event; and Naomi Silekunola, the estranged wife of Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, who allegedly sponsored the event.
The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi, gave the ruling on Tuesday, December 24, after their arraignment by the Oyo State Police Command.
The three face four charges, including violating Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000, as detailed by the police prosecutor.
Chief Magistrate Ogunkanmi ordered their remand at Agodi Correctional Centre, pending advice from the state prosecutor.
KanyiDaily had reported how the event, organized by Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, turned deadly, with 35 children losing their lives.
