In a statement on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, confirmed that Tinubu would leave Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to participate in the event at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” aims to bring together global leaders to discuss and accelerate sustainable development.
It will provide a platform for policymakers, business executives, and civil society leaders to explore ways to transition to a sustainable economy and foster global prosperity.
According to the statement, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week has been held annually for over 15 years, fostering collaboration and strategic partnerships worldwide.
The summit has resulted in impactful agreements between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy innovators.
During the summit, President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s ongoing reforms, focusing on energy efficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.
He will also meet with UAE leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest between Nigeria and the UAE.
The president will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and other senior officials.
He is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
