Ayra Starr Beats Tems, Tyla To Win ‘Best International Act’ At 2025 MOBO Awards

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr has emerged victorious at the 2025 MOBO Award, clinching the “Best International Act” award.

The singer beat strong competition from fellow Nigerian stars Asake and Tems, as well as South African acts like Tyla and Uncle Waffles to claim the title.

Ayra Starr’s win marks another milestone for Nigerian music on the global stage and solidifies her status as one of the most influential African artists on the global stage.

The award comes after a phenomenal year of chart-topping hits, album release, international collaborations, and sold-out tours.

The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards, held annually in the UK, honor outstanding Black artists across various genres, including R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats, reggae, and more.

With this win, the “Rush” hitmaker continues to cement her place among the biggest names in contemporary African music.

Fans and fellow artists have flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating her well-deserved success.

KanyiDaily recalls that Ayra Starr recently sparked online criticism after a video surfaced showing her singing and dancing to Naira Marley’s latest song, Pxy Drip.
