Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo has declared himself as the best and most complete player in the history of the sport.

In a recent interview with journalist Edu Aguirre from “El Chiringuito”, Cristiano Ronaldo was asked whether he considers himself the greatest footballer of all time.

While acknowledging that fans may favor players like Lionel Messi, Pele, and Diego Maradona, he insisted that no one matches his all-around abilities.

He said, “I think I’m the most complete football player that has ever existed. People could like Messi, Maradona or Pele, and I respect it, but I’m the most complete.

“I’m the best player in football history. I haven’t seen anyone better than me in football history and I’m saying truth from my heart.”

Ronaldo and Messi have been at the top of the football world for nearly two decades, winning 13 Ballon d’Ors between them and redefining individual excellence.

While their rivalry was most intense during their time at Real Madrid and Barcelona, Ronaldo emphasized that their relationship was always professional and respectful.

He said, “I’ve never had a bad relationship with Messi. We’ve shared 15 years of awards, and we’ve always gotten along well. I remember that I used to translate English for him, and it was very funny.

“He defended his club and I mine, and his national team and I mine. I think we gave each other feedback. There were years when he wanted to play everything, and so did I. It was a healthy fight.”

Highlighting what sets him apart, Cristiano Ronaldo pointed to his diverse skill set, including aerial ability, free kicks, and ambidexterity.

He added, “I think I’m the most complete player that has ever existed . I do everything in football. I play well with my head, I take good free kicks, I have a left foot, a right foot, I’m strong, I go out…”

During the interview, Ronaldo also took aim at a former manager, criticizing him for lacking football knowledge.

The football star, who would be turning 40 on Wednesday, also made a critic remark about Kylian Mbappé’s early struggles at Real Madrid.

Currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards and multiple major trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.

However, the FIFA World Cup remains the only major title missing from his collection. He has led Portugal to victories in Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League.
