The gruesome discovery was made on Saturday when their mother, Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, returned home to find the house unusually open. Suspicious, she searched for her children, only to later uncover their lifeless bodies inside the freezer.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants entered the house while the children were having a meal. Their father, Ejezie Udochukwu, was away for work in Edo State at the time, and their mother had stepped out to take an examination.
“When my wife got home, she noticed the door was wide open, which was unusual because the children always locked it when they left,” Udochukwu recounted. “She searched everywhere, including the church where they served as altar boys and girls, but they were nowhere to be found. Eventually, in desperation, she checked the deep freezer—and that’s where she found their bodies.”
He added that plates of food were still left on the table, suggesting the children had been attacked in the middle of their meal.
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the incident, with the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, ordering a full-scale investigation.
State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated: “The bodies have been recovered, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a thorough investigation.
