KanyiDaily recalls that the Kogi State Police Command, acting on the directives of Governor Ododo’s administration, had banned Natasha’s homecoming rally on Tuesday,
Despite the ban, Natasha Akpoti received a warm welcome from her supporters and residents of Ihima in Kogi, defying the restrictions imposed by the state government.
She declared that no one could prevent her from returning home, stressing that her visit to Kogi was not a rally but simply a chance to celebrate Sallah with her people.
Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Tuesday night, Fanwo explained that the governor had issued a directive, and it was up to security agencies to enforce it.
The Kogi commissioner hinted at Natasha’s arrest, claiming that if anyone violated the directive, law enforcement did not need further approval from the governor to take action.
“There was a directive from the state governor and the security agencies were told to execute the directive,” Fanwo said.
“If someone has violated it, the security agencies do not need the governor again to give them another directive; they know what to do.
“Only the security agencies will be able to answer that (whether to arrest the senator or not); they know how they go about their operations. I am not a police offier but I am very sure that she should be asked a lot of questions about her incitements.”
Meanwhile, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of avoiding accountability in the sexual harassment case filed against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
