Abigail Victor, who lives in the Ungwan Sunday area of Kaduna, is facing two charges: conspiracy and causing bodily harm.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, the incident took place on May 17, 2025, at Sabon Tasha.
He said Abigail got into an argument with her boyfriend, Dominic James, after accusing him of cheating on her.
“In anger, she reportedly called two friends who joined her at the complainant’s residence, where they allegedly beat him and stabbed him in the shoulder with a knife,” Leo said.
Neighbours who witnessed the altercation stepped in and rushed Dominic to the hospital for treatment.
The police said Abigail’s actions violated Sections 58 and 284 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law of 2017.
Section 58 covers conspiracy and carries up to one year in prison, while Section 284 relates to causing injury and comes with a minimum five-year jail term if convicted.
In court, Abigail pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel granted her bail at N200,000, requiring one surety of the same amount.
The surety must be a relative and provide proof of paying taxes to the Kaduna State Government for the past three years.
The case was adjourned to June 17, 2025, for hearing.
