It was gathered that the wedding was a private affair attended by only close relatives and friends, with no major public announcement or media coverage.
The news was confirmed by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza, who took to Instagram to welcome the new bride into the family.
In her post, Hafiza expressed happiness about the addition to their household saying, “Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving!
“A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin.”
Yahaya Bello, who governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2023 under the APC, gained recognition during his time in office as Nigeria’s youngest sitting governor.
He was already married to three women: Amina Oyiza, Rashida, and Hafiza, before this recent wedding which took place while the former governor is facing legal troubles.
The former governor is currently being prosecuted by the EFCC over allegations of laundering ₦80.2 billion.
Despite the ongoing case, he proceeded with the marriage quietly, steering clear of publicity or political attention.
Meanwhile, a high court of the federal capital territory (FCT) in Maitama, has rejected Yahaya Bello’s request to travel abroad for medical treatment.
