AC Milan Reaches Agreement With Bayer Leverkusen For Victor Boniface Loan Deal

AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen have reached a verbal agreement for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, with the Serie A side now working on the paperwork to finalize the deal.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said the agreement is structured as a loan with an option to buy for €30 million, though Milan are not obliged to activate the clause.

Romano added that the Italian club is also in discussions with the player’s representatives to settle personal terms, which remains the last hurdle before completion.

“AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen preparing formal documents after verbal agreement for Victor Boniface. Loan deal with €30m buy option clause not mandatory. AC Milan now in direct talks with Victor Boniface’s agent over personal terms, key final step to get the deal done,” Romano posted on X.

He confirmed on Wednesday that Boniface has already accepted Milan’s contract proposal and is eager to join the Rossoneri.

“Negotiations underway today as Victor said yes to AC Milan contract proposal, talks continue over deal structure,” Fabrizio wrote on X.

The development comes as a twist in Milan’s striker search. The club had been strongly linked with moves for Rasmus Højlund and Dusan Vlahovic, but negotiations proved complicated, forcing them to explore alternatives.

While Højlund remains committed to Manchester United and Juventus have held firm on Vlahovic’s valuation, Milan quietly opened talks for Boniface behind the scenes.

Italian and German outlets report that Leverkusen are seriously considering Milan’s proposal, with German journalist Florian Plettenberg suggesting the Bundesliga champions are leaning toward approval, partly due to Boniface’s own desire to move to Italy.

Sky Italia described the negotiations as “advanced,” adding that optimism is growing on both sides.

Should the deal go through, the 24-year-old forward would become a key addition for Milan under returning coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Victor Boniface scored 11 goals and provided one assist in the Bundesliga last season, earning praise for his strength, pressing ability, and work rate in Xabi Alonso’s system at Leverkusen.

Milan view him as a striker capable of leading their attack as they begin a new chapter in their rebuild.
