The Recording Academy, organisers of the Grammys, announced the development in a post on Instagram while celebrating a fresh group of members chosen for their commitment to music.
In a video spotlighting Davido alongside other artistes, the Academy highlighted why member involvement is crucial to the awards process.
“Creating a song or an album takes heart, time, and dedication. That’s why Recording Academy members including @Davido, @ravynlenae, @offsetyrn, @jessiereyez, @zacbrownband, @anneakikomeyers, @miles.minnick, @mayaelizabethmusic, @damiensneed, @damarismusica, and @stewart_copeland are sharing why your participation matters,” the caption reads.
Reacting to the development, Davido called the opportunity a “game changer,” stressing the importance of artists having a say in how the Grammys are decided.
He wrote, “Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard and participating in the Grammy Award process is a game-changer.
“I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on each award season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”
As a voting member, Davido will now be part of both the nomination and final voting stages that determine Grammy winners.
The Recording Academy has also announced that nominations for the 2026 Grammys will be revealed on November 7, ahead of the main ceremony on February 1, 2026.
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido first earned four nominations at the 2024 Grammys but did not win in any category.
