Nnadozie Finishes Fourth As Hampton Wins Women’s Yashin Trophy At 2025 Ballon d’Or Awards
Nigeria’s Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been named the fourth-best goalkeeper in the world at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, held in Paris.

The top honor went to England and Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton, who made history by becoming the first-ever winner of the Women’s Yashin Trophy.
Hannah Hampton’s outstanding year included guiding the Lionesses to victory at Euro 2025 and helping Chelsea secure a domestic treble.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading goalkeepers, secured her place among the top five in the final ranking announced at the event.
Spain’s Cata Coll was ranked third, while Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger took second spot behind Hampton.
The Nigerian shot-stopper, who plays for Paris FC, has continued to earn recognition on the global stage following her standout performances at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
She was particularly praised for her display in Nigeria’s surprise win over Australia, where she earned the Player of the Match award.
For Hampton, the trophy capped off a dream season. She recorded 13 clean sheets in the Women’s Super League, shared the Golden Glove award, and played a decisive role in Chelsea’s treble before cementing her status with key performances in England’s European triumph.
