While speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump explained that he doesn’t believe anything he has done will earn him a place in heaven.
He said: “I think I’m not, maybe, heaven-bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly in Air Force One.”
“I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to make heaven. But I’ve made life better for a lot of people,” Trump added.
Trump also repeated his claim that the 2020 U.S. presidential election was “rigged,” insisting that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if he were still in office.
According to him, millions have died “because of a crooked election,” while he accused the current administration of incompetence.
The former president went on to criticize the Biden administration for its handling of the Israel–Gaza conflict, saying the situation has become “much harder to resolve” under Democratic leadership.
Trump’s comments came in response to a question about his earlier remarks in August, when he said that achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine might improve his chances of going to heaven.
“I wanna end it. You know, we’re not losing American lives… we’re losing Russian and Ukrainian mostly soldiers,” Trump told Fox News on August 19.
“I wanna try and get to heaven if possible. I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
