Festus is accused of abducting Walida Abdulhadi from Hadejia Local Government Area, allegedly forcing her to change her religion, and fathering a child with her.
According to the case presented in court, the girl was reportedly compelled to convert from Islam to Christianity and was subjected to repeated abuse, which led to pregnancy and the birth of a child.
The application before the court was filed by Kabiru Adamu, who asked the magistrate to order the arrest of the DSS officer.
He also requested that the Jigawa State Police Command be directed to investigate the allegations, relying on relevant sections of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL).
Magistrate Sadisu Musa approved the application and instructed the police to arrest the suspect and carry out a careful and discreet investigation.
The court further ordered the DSS to release the girl immediately and ensure she is reunited with her family.
Reports indicate that Walida was 16 years old when she went missing. Her father told Falcon Times Hausa that the family searched for her for years and eventually believed she had died.
The emotional strain from her disappearance reportedly contributed to the death of her mother.
Walida was recently located at Festus’s residence in Abuja.
Another lawyer involved in the matter, Barrister Hussaini, claimed that the officer had held her unlawfully for years, converted her to Christianity, and is now allegedly seeking her father’s approval to marry her.
Hussaini has written to President Bola Tinubu and the DSS, calling for transparency and justice in the handling of the case.
