Suspected bandits have attacked the busy Isanlu–Isin–Omu Aran highway in Kwara State and abducted at least four travelers.

The incident was said to have happened early Monday when the gunmen blocked the road and laid ambush for motorists using the route, which connects parts of Kwara South to Ilorin, the state capital.
According to a source, the bandits stopped several vehicles and took some passengers away to an unknown destination.
“Bandits are still heavily present in the area and are actively targeting travellers heading towards Ilorin,” the source told Channels TV.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Police Command has not released a statement confirming the attack or explaining rescue efforts.
Kwara State has recorded increasing security incidents in recent months, with several kidnapping cases reported within a short period.
KanyiDaily recalls that kidnappers who abducted Kwara monarch, the Oniwo of Aafin, Oba Simeon Olaonipekun, along with his son and several other people, recently asked for a total of ₦450 million to release them.
