Abdullahi Usman Resigns As NAHCON Chairman
Abdullahi Usman has resigned as the chairman and chief executive officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

A source who is aware of the situation told TheCable that Usman submitted his resignation on Monday night after “deep personal reflection”.
The source said his decision was voluntary and not linked to any internal dispute, leadership struggle, or outside pressure.
It was gathered that Abdullahi Usman believed he had helped strengthen corporate governance, improve discipline within the institution, and stabilize the commission’s operations during his time in office.
He reportedly decided to step down quietly, feeling it was the right step for the commission.
As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official statement from either the federal government or NAHCON confirming the development.
Abdullahi Usman was appointed to lead NAHCON by President Bola Tinubu in August 2024.
He took over after the removal of Jalal Arabi, who was being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over the alleged mismanagement of the N90 billion presidential subsidy for the 2024 hajj.
