Joshua Ishaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Bwari Area Council chairmanship election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The results were announced Sunday morning by Mohammed Nurudeen, the returning officer for the election.
Ishaku received 18,466 votes to claim victory. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate came second with 4,254 votes, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate garnered 3,515 votes.
The election was held across all 10 wards of Bwari Area Council, including Igu, Shere, Dutse, Ushafa, Byazhin, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Bwari Central, and Kawu.
KanyiDaily also reported that APC candidate, Christopher Maikalangu, won the FCT chairmanship election in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
