When the case resumed on Tuesday, R.D. Kadiri, representing the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), told the court that his team had just received new information that needed to be added to the case.
He asked for more time to update the charges.
But the defence lawyer, Abiodun Olalekan, objected, accusing the prosecution of deliberately delaying the case and wasting time.
Following the arguments, Magistrate Olufunmilayo Somefun adjourned the matter to April 16, 2026.
This is not the first time the court has adjourned the case based on the request of the prosecutor.
On February 25, the prosecutor had also asked for more time to gather evidence and witnesses after the case was transferred to the Ogun State DPP by the police.
During a hearing on January 20, the police lawyer, Richard Nigiwe, requested an adjournment so the case file could be copied and sent to the state attorney-general through the DPP for legal advice.
The case was then moved to February 25 and later to March 17.
The case is linked to a road accident that happened on December 29, 2025, near the Sinoma area of Sagamu.
The SUV carrying Joshua and two of his associates crashed into a stationary truck while they were travelling from Lagos.
Joshua survived with minor injuries, but two of his associates Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami died in the crash.
Ghami was a close friend and fitness coach to the boxer, while Ayodele worked as his personal trainer.
The former world heavyweight champion was later treated at Lagoon Hospital and discharged on December 31, 2025.
