President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of the cashless payment policy currently being used at federal airports.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the President made the decision after receiving complaints that many passengers were missing their flights because of delays linked to the system.
Keyamo explained that the policy had led to heavy congestion at airport terminals, causing frustration for travellers.
He said the President stepped in out of concern for Nigerians who were being affected and directed the ministry to suspend the system for now.
Tinubu also instrusted the ministry to return to the previous payment method, and the cashless system be properly reviewed and improved before it is reintroduced.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for another five years.
