“The Man Criticising Tinubu In Viral Video Is My Brother” – Asari Dokubo Clarifies

Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo has clarified that the man seen in a viral video criticising President Bola Tinubu is not him, but his brother.

The video, which has been widely shared online, shows a man who looks very similar to Dokubo, speaking and dancing while calling on the president to step down due to the current economic situation.

In the video, the man complained about the rising cost of petrol and other basic goods, saying Nigerians are struggling to cope with the hardship.

Because of the strong resemblance, many social media users believed the person in the video was Dokubo, who is known to support the president.

Responding to the claims, Asari Dokubo dismissed the assumption, saying those insisting it is him are simply trying to misrepresent him.

The militant explained that the man in the video is his brother, identified as Theophilus, who is from Bayelsa State.

He said, “I’m not the one in the video. He is my brother, Theophilus. He is from Bayelsa state and I’m from Rivers state. He is from Nembe, while I’m from Kalabari. But we are brothers. Very good brothers. Don’t mistake me for him.”

Dokubo stressed that despite the confusion, he remains a supporter of Tinubu and believes the president should be allowed to complete his second tenure.
