Tonto Dikeh Drops ‘King’ From Her Name, Urges People To Call Her ‘Evangelist’

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed that she is making a change in her life and no longer wants to be called “King Tonto Dikeh.”

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the actress explained that the decision was made in obedience to the Holy Spirit, stressing that the move reflects a fresh phase in her spiritual journey.

According to her, she would now prefer to be addressed as “The Woman of God” or “Evangelist Tonto,” noting that the change is not just about image or branding, but about spiritual growth and divine guidance.

“In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I will no longer be addressed as ‘King Tonto Dikeh.’ You can call me ‘The Woman of God,’ ‘Evangelist Tonto.’ I’m going from a mess to a message,” she stated.

Tonto Dikeh revealed that announcing the decision on March 1 felt meaningful to her because the date represents a new beginning and aligns with what she believes is God’s plan for her life.

“I want to make this declaration, and it gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March. It just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life, that He is marching me away from everything that is past, and marching me into the prophecies of the new morning,” she said.

“His joy, His peace and His authority keep aligning with me. As such, I will not be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. You can call me the woman of God. You can call me Lady Evangelist Tonto Dikeh. You can call me Tonto Dikeh, but I will not want to be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. This is the direction of the Holy Spirit.”

The actress emphasised that the rebranding is not merely cosmetic but rooted in faith and obedience, signalling what she described as a transition “from a mess to a message.”

Tonto Dikeh had adopted the name “King Tonto” years ago as part of a bold rebrand, often using the title to symbolize strength and authority. Over time, the nickname became a major part of her identity in the entertainment industry and on social media.
