KanyiDaily recalls that the incident happened on Sunday at the premiere of “The Return of Arinzo,” a movie produced by fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.
A video from the event, which has now gone viral online, showed Abraham walking up to Akindele’s table to greet her.
Akindele, however, appeared not to respond, as she kept looking in another direction. Abraham then turned to greet Iyabo Ojo before quietly walking away.
The moment quickly stirred reactions across social media, with many of Abraham’s supporters condemning Akindele’s action and describing it as disrespectful and immature.
Some others had a different opinion, saying Abraham should not have gone over to greet Akindele if there was already tension between them.
As the discussion continued online, an X user identified as Oscar Yankee said the actress had unintentionally put her fans in an uncomfortable position by trying to force the greeting.
The user also advised Toyin Abraham to avoid such situations going forward.
“Dear Mummy Ire @toyin_abraham1 Edakun nii tori olorun we ur fans aren’t happy with what happened yesterday
Efi Kiki le fuun Eni tor deserve e please Respect is Reciprocal .. Ema fii oju wa gbo ile beyen mor .We love u Always ma’am keep Shining,” the user wrote.
Reacting to the comment, Toyin Abraham publicly apologized and assured the fan that it would not happen again.
The actress pleaded with the fan not to be upset and promised she would be more careful in the future, while also expressing love to her supporters.
“Emabinu simi, iru e ko tu ni somo lowo mi mo, I love you all,” she wrote.
KanyiDaily recalls that Toyin Abraham has also unfollowed Funke Akindele on Instagram and vowed never to greet her again.
