The controversy started in January when Blessing CEO announced her diagnosis and shared what appeared to be a medical report as evidence, asking for financial assistance from the public.
However, Xinus Medical Diagnostics refuted her claim, stating that the report she shared was altered.
They revealed that the original report had been issued to a person named Deborah Mbara in May 2025.
This led Mbara, a makeup artist and cancer survivor, to speak out, alleging that Blessing CEO had taken her medical report without permission.
Mbara’s family filed a complaint with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing Blessing CEO of cyberbullying, forgery, and running a fundraising scam worth millions of naira.
They claimed that Blessing exploited Deborah’s health condition to defraud Nigerians of over N300 million.
The Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS) also called for an investigation and stated it would work with authorities to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
In response to the backlash, Blessing CEO, whose full name is Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, deactivated her Instagram account.
However, a check by KanyiDaily on Tuesday, April 21, revealed that Blessing CEO has reactivated the page.
The relationship expert has deleted all posts related to her cancer claim, including interviews. But she kept one post advising women on proper breast self-exams.
