Bashir made the remarks in a now-deleted series of posts on X on Saturday morning, August 29, 2026.
The dispute appears to be linked to Bello’s political relationship with Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, a former ally of their father Nasir el-Rufai.
The relationship between Sani and the former governor later deteriorated after Sani won the 2023 governorship election.
After Nasir el-Rufai left the All Progressives Congress (APC) in March 2025, Bello, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, initially remained with the ruling party.
Bello later left the APC on May 7, 2026, and joined his father in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
in his X posts, Bashir accused his brother of remaining close to Sani until he allegedly realised that his political position was no longer secure.
He questioned why Bello only began speaking about family loyalty after leaving the APC and joining their father in the ADC.
Bashir also claimed that Bello had previously asked him to stop criticising Sani while he was still politically aligned with the governor.
“Stuck with Uba Sani until he realized he is being dumped then suddenly remembered family loyalty and moved to ADC. Where was he since? Purely serving his interest,” he wrote.
Bashir also alleged that Bello asked him to “pipe down my criticism of his former boss,” presumably Sani.
“At this stage in my life, I hate nonsense,” Bashir added, while calling his brother a hypocrite.
Bashir went further in his posts, making several personal allegations against Bello.
Some of the claims, including allegations about drug and alcohol use, were not supported by evidence.
He wrote: “I have a useless excuse for a brother, with his bony-ass face coated with an unknown white substance around his nostrils every night.
“That is your member in the House, representing a whole populace, but prefers alcohol and cocaine. Yes, you.”
Bashir also made remarks about Bello’s personal life and fertility, while accusing him of interfering in his affairs.
He warned his brother to stay away from him and issued a threatening statement, saying that a confrontation between them could have serious consequences.
Bashir wrote: “Stay away from me. I have outgrown you. I do not need you. Drink in peace and command your minions. Come for me and wallah one of us will end up dead and it will not be me.”
“I have warned you. Stay the fk away from my affairs. Jizika ha burra that’s your business. Fool at 38.”
“Wawa. Telling me to kll myself, the world first slap their daughter then I will believe he is real & serious. Someone that had to wk to conceive children through IVF is the one sitting on a high horse. Go fix your b**s. Your wives, ex and present were not the problem.”
The exchange has attracted significant attention on social media, with many users reacting to the public disagreement between the two brothers.
