“I Use Juju To Succeed, It’s Not Good To Be Poor” – Saheed Osupa [Video]

Fuji musician Saheed Okunola, popularly known as Saheed Osupa, has admitted that he uses voodoo to improve his life and achieve success.

The musician made the revelation while performing at the 52nd birthday celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua, famously called Lalude, on March 30, 2026.

In a video that went viral on Wednesday, Saheed Osupa was seen telling his backup singers to use voodoo to help them keep up with his fast-paced performance.

He also explained the items they should use and stressed that practicing voodoo doesn’t make them fetishists, noting that it’s meant to support their well-being.

Osupa added that someone once advised him to deny using supernatural powers, often called juju, but he refused.

He also spoke about his daily devotion to Ifa, saying it’s a way to pay homage rather than worshiping a specific deity.

“Somebody told me one time to grant an interview, denying that I’m a fetish person, but I told him that I am, and why should I deny it. I didn’t kill anyone with my juju or commit evil with it. I am only looking for how to progress. Nothing more.

“That’s why anytime I wake, I always pay obeisance to my Ifa. I don’t know the deity beyond it, because it is worth paying homage to.

“If I don’t engage in voodoo, what else should I have employed. Is it Phensic or Panadol that will make me successful? It is not good to be poor and still not live a good life. Even if one is not enormously rich but should enjoy comfort,” he said.

Saheed Osupa further claimed that everyone practices juju, noting that while some people uses it openly, others secretly.

Everybody practises voodoo. While some hide behind the scenes to do theirs, I do mine in the open. All those talks of mine that I rely solely on the Bible and the Quran are pure lies,” he said.

His statements have sparked controversy, particularly among Islamic clerics who admire him, with many criticizing his suggestion that everyone uses juju.
