The move was confirmed on Sunday during the group’s convention and primary election in Abuja, where delegates backed Kachikwu through a voice vote.

Following the decision, the faction set up a fresh leadership team to take over from the dissolved committee.

The new structure names Kingsley Oggah as chairman of the board of trustees, Abdulkadir Bashir as national chairman, Johnny Derek as national secretary, Kennedy O. Odion as national treasurer, Amirigoye as national financial secretary, and Chris Ugwu as national legal adviser, among others.

After receiving the party flag, Kachikwu said the country is facing serious challenges, including insecurity, rising joblessness, economic pressure, and growing divisions among citizens.

Nigeria belongs to all of us and must not be controlled by a few privileged interests,” he said.

Kachikwu also pointed to the increasing number of middle-class Nigerians leaving the country as a clear sign of public dissatisfaction.

According to him, the party is ready to present a strong alternative and bring back confidence among the people.

In his speech, Oggah described the event as a turning point for the faction, highlighting its ability to stay united despite internal disputes.

Abdulkadir Bashir, the newly elected national chairman, called on members to respect the party’s rules and avoid actions that could deepen existing rifts.

He also urged those who feel sidelined to return and help rebuild the party ahead of future elections.

KanyiDaily recalls that former vice president Atiku Abubakar submitted his ADC nomination form ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
