It was gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday while she was returning from an official assignment.
Her vehicle was later found abandoned by the roadside, creating fear over her safety and whereabouts.
Attempts to contact Ogunleye after the incident were unsuccessful because her phone was reportedly switched off.
According to reports, she had visited the Ilejemeje Local Government Secretariat earlier in the day before travelling towards Ido Ekiti when the gunmen allegedly stopped her vehicle and took her away.
The development was confirmed by Falade Sunday, director of information and civic orientation for Ilejemeje LGA, who said security agencies were immediately informed and rescue efforts had begun.
